Company Background

Dynatherm Medical, Inc. was founded in 2003 as part of a technology and product acquisition of Aquarius Medical. Dynatherm acquired FDA-cleared products for core body temperature management as well as key intellectual property.

Dynatherm's technology takes advantage of the body's natural thermoregulatory anatomy to channel thermal energy noninvasively to the body's core faster than current noninvasive methods. Dr. Dennis Grahn invented the technology at Stanford University, and Dynatherm is the exclusive licensee of this platform technology.

Dynatherm is commercializing this technology for core body temperature management. Dynatherm's first product, the vitalHEAT™ vH2™ Temperature Management System, includes a single-patient use consumable for prevention of or recovery from hypothermia during surgical procedures (pre-op holding / surgical suite / PACU). Hypothermia is associated with increased surgical complications such as surgical site infections, increased morbidity, prolonged recovery from anesthesia, and longer hospital stays. Future clinical applications include use in trauma / emergency, burn unit and other patient care environments. Dynatherm technology helps improve patient outcomes while decreasing healthcare costs.
